Great Ormond Street is one of the biggest children's hospitals in the world. 268,000 seriously ill children and young people visit Great Ormond Street every year, with patients travelling from across the globe to recieve best-in-class care.
This high-profile project in collaboration with Skanska Construction included specialist decoration works to hospital wards, offices, shared spaces, treatment rooms and plant rooms. Sika and Johnstone's provided our specialist coatings for the project. The plant room floors were finished with Johnstone’s two pack epoxy floor paint, while partition walls and ceilings were protected with a five coat Sika PL14 System, which includes Sikagard 403W, embedded Reemat Light, a further coat of 403W followed by two coats of Sikagard 405W.
Each of these products needed to be managed carefully as storage space was limited and deliveries had to be planned to account for lead times. Our site team implemented a diligent management strategy to ensure waste on this project was minimal. Great Ormond Street is a wonderful example of how close collaboration with our clients ensures successful application at every stage of the project. We ensured all expectations were me and received multiple safety awards during the project, maintaining our values of quality, integrity and performance from start to finish.
