King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls Academy is undergoing a major three-phrase reconstruction to provide brand new teaching facilities to its pupils.
The original 1960s building was not sufficient for the school to deliver the curriculum, due to inefficient spatial configurations and poor movement between blocks. Aside from the more recent sixth form centre, all existing teaching accommodation was demolished to make way for the main L-shaped 3-storey teaching block, including classrooms, dining and main halls and a drama studio.
During the first phase of the project, we have carried out decoration works across the brand new classrooms and communal spaces using Johnstones Paints, as well as applied epoxy resin to plant rooms. The second phase is underway and expected to be complete by Spring 2025.

Beetham Tower is the third tallest building in Birmingham, after the BT Tower and The Mercian - both of which are also previous projects of ours.
Standing at a huge 499 and 39 floors, the structure is home to 158 apartments across the top 20 floors, with the lower 19 belonging to the Radisson Blu Hotel, which opened its doors in January 2006.
The Harvey team carried out full decoration works to all the residential apartments, as well as the shared communal areas and basement. The front façade of the building is floor-to-ceiling glass decorated in "tiger stripes", used to enhance the vertical impact.
As the apartments were being furbished, an aqua coloured camouflage was also added to these windows with some of the tiger stripes being removed.
This was a brilliant project to work on and we are very proud to have been part of such an impressive piece of Birmingham's iconic skyline.

Opening in 2024, the hospital will offer emergency department, maternity, children’s and adult acute inpatient services to half a million people. New technology will enhance the patient experience – such as the modern nurse call system. It will allow remote communication, meaning patients can speak to a nurse at the touch of a button without leaving their room.
